D’Angelo Russell

Russell scored a season-high 39 points to lead the Lakers to a 107-101 victory over visiting Brooklyn on Tuesday night. While Russell’s scoring output was the highest by a rookie since Jordan Crawford had 39 for Washington on March 30, 2011, it was still short of the Lakers’ record of 59 set by Elgin Baylor in 1959. Russell was 14 for 21 from the floor and 8 of 12 from 3-point range, hitting two in the final minute. He also added six rebounds and three assists.

Chandler Parsons

Parsons scored 29 points in the Mavericks’ 128-101 win over Minnesota on Sunday night. He scored 13 straight points in a stretch covering the second and third quarters to help Dallas pull away. Parsons is averaging 21.6 points over his last seven, a stretch during which he’s shooting 50 percent from 3-point range. He’s 20 for 32 from the field over his last two.

Stephen Curry

Curry shot down his own season record for made 3-pointers and tied the NBA’s single-game mark while burying Oklahoma City with a 32-foot game-winner with 0.7 seconds left in the Warriors’ 121-118 overtime win on Saturday night. After leaving briefly in the second quarter with an ankle injury, the reigning MVP finished with 46 points while making 12 of 16 3s – surpassing his record of 286 from a year ago with 24 games still left on the schedule. Curry has averaged 46.3 points while making 65.1 percent of his 3s the last three games.

Player of the Day – Giannis Antetokounmpo

On a night when retiring Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant was celebrated during his final stop in Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokounmpo stole the show by posting his first career triple-double (27 points, 12 boards and 10 assists) in the Bucks’ 108-101 win. Standing 6-foot-11, the “Greek Freak” also had four blocks and three steals while shooting 12 of 17 from the field. The 21-year-old Antetokounmpo has been playing well for a while, averaging 19.2 points over his last nine games.
