PLAYER OF THE DAY

J.J. Barea

Barea capped a 26-point night by scoring the go-ahead layup with 49.9 seconds left in Wednesday’s 91-89 win over the New York Knicks. The veteran guard finished 10 of 18 from the field and added seven assists to help the Mavericks pull even with Utah in the race for the Western Conference’s final playoff spot.

After connecting on a career-best nine 3-pointers six days previously, Mirotic was again feeling it from long range on Tuesday at Indiana. Splashing home seven treys, the forward finished his red-hot night with a game-high 28 points and 10 rebounds to boost the Bulls to a 98-96 win.

Westbrook led the Thunder to an eighth consecutive win by notching his 16th triple-double of the season in Monday’s 119-100 victory at Toronto. The All-Star point guard amassed 26 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds for his fifth triple-double of the winning streak. Westbrook’s seven triple-doubles in March are the most in a month since April 1989, and he’s recorded the most in a season since Magic Johnson had 17 in 1988-89.

Klay Thompson

Thompson tallied 40 points in back-to-back games for the first time in a 117-105 victory against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night. The Golden State Warriors guard made 15 of 27 shots and was 7 of 14 from 3-point range. Thompson is shooting 62.2 percent beyond the arc in his last four games and 54.8 percent overall in his past three.
